If you maintain some simple steps and can regularly follow them, we can control dandruff and have dandruff free hair. In this article, I try my best to share some important information about dandruff and how can you get rid of dandruff using home remedies. So let’s start

Causes of dandruff—

Poor hygiene

One of the main reasons for dandruff. We all know how pollution is increasing day by day. We face sun exposure and dust every day. So our hair and scalp get dirty. When we do not clean them properly, dandruff generates in our scalp. Dandruff is a kind of fungus and it gets nourishment from the dirty scalp. So the first and main reason for dandruff is poor hygiene.
Dandruff and shampoo
Shampoo cleans all dirt from the scalp and hair. It removes excess oil from the scalp. We all know greasy hair attracts dirt and dirty scalp causes dandruff. If we do not shampoo our hair properly, then our scalp gets more oily and dirty. Dandruff grows fast on the dirty scalp. So lack of shampooing is another reason for dandruff.

Irregular combing

When we comb our hair, the blood circulation of the scalp increases. As a result, we get a healthy scalp. Moreover, when we comb our hair, dead cells separated from the scalp and our scalp can breathe. So when we do not comb of hair properly, dead cells block the pores of scalps. So our scalp cannot breathe. An unhealthy scalp generates dandruff. Dead cells cause fungus in hair, so irregular reason plays a major role in generating dandruff.

Oily and dry scalp

You must be surprised how both oily and dry scalp can cause dandruff. Well, oily scalp produces more sweat and attracts dirt. When your scalp sweats a lot, it causes bacteria and fungus. As a result, you get dandruff. Oily scalp is much more prone to dandruff. On the other hand, dry scalp lacks moisturizer and dry flakes are produced in the dry scalp. Dry scalp causes itchiness on the scalp. So both dry and oily scalp is harmful to you.

Dandruff and stress

Now that’s looking surprising, but many dermatologists have found a connection between mental stress and dandruff. According to them, stress triggers dandruff. Many surveys have proven that stress worsens skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema, etc. Dandruff is a skin condition where you will have itchy scalp and redness on your scalp. If you are suffering from stress, it is possible that you may experience dandruff.

Dandruff and diet

Unhealthy and junk foods do not directly affect dandruff, but it can worsen the skin condition indirectly. When we eat too much oily and processed food, insulin increases in our body. As soon as insulin increases in our blood, the skin condition becomes worse. Survey has shown that acne, pimple increase during eating these processed foods. Oily foods increase sebum secretion. As a result, our skin gets oily and dirty. Due to excessive sebum secretion, the scalp gets oily and oily scalp creates dandruff. To avoid oily foods for having dandruff free hair and healthy scalp.

Side effects of dandruff

Hair loss

If you are having dandruff, then it is evitable that you will suffer from hair loss. The roots of hair become weak due to dandruff. Moreover, hair growth can be slow down due to dandruff. So if you are facing the problem of hair loss, then it is possible that you have dandruff.

Just imagine, you have worn a black gown and suddenly you notice that there is dandruff on your shoulder! It is so much embarrassing that people who have dandruff avoid wearing dark or black dresses.

Shine less and rough hair

It is possible due to dandruff you can have shine less and rough hair. How? Dandruff absorbs the natural oil of your scalps that usually smooth your hair and make it shiny. Dandruff takes the nourishment from the scalp and as a result, your hair cannot take enough nourishment. Without nourishment, your hair becomes dull and rough. It makes your hair fragile.

Due to blood circulation, the roots of the hair are stronger and shiny.

Hot towel treatment

It is one of the effective methods of fighting dandruff. For this treatment, you need a towel and have to dip it into hot water for two minutes. After two minutes, take it out and squeeze the water. Now your hot towel is ready. First, you have to oil your hair and scalp. Massage them well with coconut oil or olive oil. Both coconut oil and olive oil are good for dandruff. Then wrap the hot towel on your hair and make sure that your scalp is getting the steam. Leave it for 10 minutes and then wash your hair with anti-dandruff shampoo or normal shampoo. The oil softens dandruff and dead cells, while steam will separate dandruff from the scalp. So when you wash your hair with shampoo, dandruff can be cleaned easily. The steam opens the pores of the scalp and cleans all the dirt of the scalp. It increases the blood circulation of the scalp and you can have strong and dandruff free hair. I personally recommended you to apply this method twice in a month for having a dandruff-free hair.

It is my personal favorite remedy for dandruff. Aloe Vera not only cleanses dandruff but also moisturizes the scalp. Aloe Vera gel deeply cleanses the scalp and hair. Aloe Vera is a natural deep conditioner. It maintains the pH balance of the scalp. So it is suitable for all hair types. Take aloe Vera gel and apply it on your hair and scalp.
